Reuben Gingrich was born in Winchester, Virginia in 1988, and began playing the drums at age 12. Now, 9 years later, he is a graduate of Goshen High School, where he studied with the great Chris Smith. Reuben played drumset with the Goshen Percussion Ensemble for 5 years, during this time capturing two state titles in 2003 and 2007, and performing at the Winter Guard International Championships 3 times, capturing a world title in 2005.

In 2007 Reuben joined the teaching faculty at TG School of Music in Goshen, Indiana. While there he taught private lessons for over 20 students until summer of 2008. Also in 2007, at age 19, Reuben was hired by Carnival Cruise Lines as a Showband Drummer. In the summer of 2008 he performed on two different Carnival ships “The Elation,” and “The Imagination,” traveling and performing throughout the Caribbean.

Recently Reuben was selected to be a part of the 2009 Disney College Band, and spent the summer of 2009 performing shows in Disneyland California, as well as recording their 2009 CD at Capitol Records.

Reuben has performed with artists such as Gordin Goodwin, John Clayton, Wycliffe Gordin, Jiggs Whigham, Rick Baptist, Sal Lozano, Corey Christiansen, Matthew Von Doran, Johnny B. Gayden and Wes Anderson. He is currently drummer for The Main Squeeze.

Reuben has studied with Simon Phillips, Steve Houghton, Paul Wertico, Jim Bolero, Chris Smith, and Mike Sanders. Currently Reuben is enrolled at The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, pursuing a jazz drumset performance degree.
